Steve Bug - 10 October 2013

Germany's trend setting stalwart Steve Bug returned to Dubai this weekend to headline the opening party of Groove On The Grass.  Featuring two other global dance shakers Droog and DJ Koze from the USA and Germany respectively it was an impressive start to another season at the open air festival held on the pristine grounds of Emirates Golf Club.

Local support came from the underground hitters Vas Floyd, Nasrawi and Rishi.  The smoothly run festival kicked off at 5pm and the club captain must have been busting some moves as they extended the outside element of the party from 1am to 3am.

After Steve Bug's set the party got down and dirty inside with a booming sound system and tunes to match.  We managed to have a few words with Steve and local spinner Nasrawi, a resident at the fresh Analog Room.

As well as being amazed by the blossoming Dubai skyline as he DJed on The Lawn, Steve touched on his summer in Ibiza and where he thinks are the best places to party are in Miami Music Conference.

Nasrawi was feeling blessed to be  playing at the same event as his hero Steve Bug as he revealed he was inspired by him and was buying his vinyl as far back as ten years ago.

There is definitely a movement happening in Dubai.  Groove On The Grass has no dress code and we believe that added to the freedom of expression, enjoyment of music and feeling of togetherness something that is taken for granted in many other cities around the world.
